Our client is a leading accountancy firm with a prestigious history and enviable client base. They now need to recruit for a truly unique and challenging role within their tax technical team. Whilst the role has some defined responsibilities this role, by its nature, can evolve and encompass much more, depend ding on the incumbents experience, drive and career vision. Some responsibilities from day one will include:
? Provide advice and solutions to technical tax queries
? Interpret technical matters of mixed complexity and communicate this information clearly to the client/audience
? Provide alerts and if appropriate briefings on cases to the tax departments and wider firm on HMRC commentary, topical issues, cases, legislative changes
? Take responsibility for all tax related fact sheets
? Establish and maintain a tax database containing such matters as Counsels? opinions, precedents (e.g. corporate residence, how an individual is taxed in the UK etc).
? Liaise with the in-house librarian regarding the tax Library, books on screen etc.
The firm are open as to your background and experience and it may be that you are currently in a client facing role (either personal tax, corporate tax or mixed tax)or equally you may be in technical support role. The key attributes are that you have a technical strength and the ability to deal with each and any task presented to you.
You may be at Manager, Senior Manager or Director level and ideally you will be a qualified accountant, lawyer or Inspector of Taxes.
