Our client is the Leeds office of a large accountancy practice. The firm has been winning lots of new work and is as a result seeking to expand its tax practice. They are looking to take on an ambitious corporate tax manager.
You will run an interesting and varied portfolio which will include Plcs, large OMBs and entrepreneurial growing businesses, some of which will have international tax issues. You will oversee the tax compliance on your portfolio and will be responsible for all tax planning work. This will include interaction with the corporate finance team and providing tax input in relation to sale or reorganisation opportunities. Alongside this you will also help to train and mentor the more junior tax staff.
Your role will be varied, and will include business development and marketing to both internal and external clients and liaison with third party work referrers such as banks and legal practices. You will have also considerable contact with the Inspector of Taxes.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification (e.g. ACA, CTA, ICAS,) and proven UK corporate tax experience. You may currently be a manager at a Big 4 or mid tier firm and are coming across barriers in your career progression. You should also be a people person who enjoys making new contacts and developing relationships with your clients.
