The Role
The employment tax business deals with UK and international payroll management; PAYE/NIC compliance and planning as well as handling PAYE/NIC employer compliance reviews and related queries. You will be based in Chelmsford but expected to work closely and travel to London, Hatfield and Cambridge from time to time.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
Advising on the set up of, and tax and social security aspects arising from, international payrolls
Preparation of dispensation applications, PSAs and response to ad-hoc PAYE/NIC, benefit in kind and CIS queries
Carrying out PAYE/NIC risk assessments as part of the client audit process
Assisting with employment status issues and termination payments
Research, data capture and analysis supporting PAYE/NIC enquiries and settlements
Working on salary sacrifice arrangements
Working closely with the expatriate tax team
About You
A good grounding in the operational application of PAYE/NIC/CIS and benefits in kind legislation
An understanding of the tax and social security legislation underlying that application
A willingness to learn
A tax or accounting qualification (or equivalent)
Relevant professional experience of HMRC experience within an Employer Compliance Unit
Ability to work under pressure and use your initiative
