Our client, a Fortune 500 US industrial multinational, has a rare vacancy for an experienced International Tax Manager to join its EMEA team. This position will take responsibility for a geographical region covering Southern Europe (focused on Italy, France & Spain) and also the Middle East & South Africa.
Based in the EMEA headquarters in Brussels where business is conducted in English, you will be responsible for managing all tax affairs within your region. There will be plenty of tax planning, tax transformation projects, transfer pricing, tax accounting under IFRS (US GAAP will suffice) as well as the management of tax audits.
You will combine this geographical responsibility with a functional responsibility, which is flexible to your strengths. For example, you may have strong tax accounting or US corporate tax skills and want to retain functional responsibility for these; or you may have very good project management skills and want to take a lead in that area.
Owing to the complexity of its structures, it is an extremely tax-driven company and offers fantastic career progression for tax professionals both geographically (to look after different countries), or in other areas of finance & the business (become a business leader).
You will need at least 7 - 10 years’ corporate & international tax experience developed from within a large company and have already worked on the tax affairs of some of the countries within this region. You must also be familiar with the commercial & tax opportunities & challenges of countries in this region. As well as English it is expected you will be fluent in either Italian, French, Spanish or Arabic.
