Job Description
As the Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for:
Performing various tax functions such as preparing partnership and corporate federal, state and local income tax returns
Completing special projects to improve efficiencies within the department
Preparing analyses and evaluating alternative strategies associated with the preparation of tax returns
Performing basic technical research
Working independently, prioritizing tasks, and following projects through to completion with minimal supervision
Tax compliance and research functions essential to the preparation of the federal, state and foreign tax returns associated with the operating partnership and the management company
Assisting in the preparation of Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns
Assisting in the preparation of tax partnership book, tax capital accounts, economic and tax allocations using aggregate or layering method
Assisting in the preparation of various tax processes (e.g., preparing tax quarterly tax distributions, K-1 distribution and capital account reconciliations)
Gathering and analyzing information necessary to prepare tax returns and complete special projects through interacting with accounting and financial personnel
Preparing detailed analyses associated with the company’s tax position as needed
Assisting in the preparation of ASC 740 and FIN 48 reporting
Required Skills
1+ year of public or private hedge fund tax experience
Tax-Partnership and Tax-Compliance
Experience with tax preparation software (i.e. Go System/Fasttax) and research tools (i.e., Corporate Tax Research, Institute of America’s CHECKPOINT and BNA)
