Heavyweight in-house tax opportunity working for this substantial US inbound. Reporting directly to the US, this role will assume responsibility for a small team of tax professionals and will require 'bandwidth' across all taxes. Role purpose:
- Providing leadership in all tax related issues. Develop, manage and enhance the tax function in order to optimise the tax position. Evaluate and implement tax mitigation opportunities for the benefit of the worldwide group. Oversee statutory and internal compliance and reporting, including Sarbanes-Oxley to ensure all obligations are met. Manage tax audits in liasion with local advisors. Key responsibilities;
- Develop and ensure implementation of tax strategies.
- Devise and implement business restructuring initiatives and tax risk management strategies to achieve the optimum tax efficient group structure.
- Develop and provide a centre of tax excellence.
- Maintain listing of open issues, projects and opportunities.
- Actively participate in M&A related work.
- Engage and manage relations with professional advisors and HMRC.
- Provide practical and pragmatic leadership.
- Oversee the management of all tax compliance and reporting issues. This is a broad base executive tax opportunity which will both challenge and stimulate. Applications are sought from candidates who have extensive experience of International tax issues, US GAAP/SOX, VAT and staff management/development. This organisation is a complex multinational environment and requires exceptional inter-personal skills, robust project management and a proactive, commercial approach.
