Our client is an international commercial property investment business with operations across North America, Asia and Europe. Due to the growing needs of the UK Real Estate business, the group is now looking to hire a Tax Manager to join their Head Office team.
Responsibilities:
Working with the UK Tax Director key functional responsibilities include the following:-
* Design and lead projects (including UK & US tax restructuring) to manage the group's ETR and cash tax position.
* Project Manage (with support from UK Tax Director) on deal flow planning and structuring, focusing on any potential due diligence on entity and portfolio acquisitions.
* Involvement in projects to review and improve internal processes, covering such matters and sales of property assets and, subject to market conditions, acquisitions of properties.
* Lead corporate restructuring initiatives designed to optimise our entity structure and cash management.
* Leverage the UK corporate tax HQ team to determine any group loss or capital loss offset opportunities.
* Manage tax risk arising from existing structures e.g. corporate governance responsibility for the overseas (Dutch and Guernsey) companies in the corporate structure.
* Analyse existing tax structures; recommend & implement changes to optimise the group's tax position. Manage the tax issues associated with the integration of new acquisitions.
* Management, development and coaching of UK Tax Controller.
* Business partner (with UK Tax Director) to the wider business in relation to UK direct tax matters covering compliance, risk management, reporting and planning opportunities.

Functional Skills & experience
* Experience of UK Tax issues applicable to a complex international organisation, preferably a US multinational.
* Awareness of US tax rules such as Subpart F and Foreign Tax Credit principles of US taxation or experience partnering with US tax specialists
* Real estate experience an advantage
* Awareness of income-tax accounting skills (FAS 109 - US tax accounting) an advantage
Education & professional qualifications
* Good first degree, preferably gained in finance, accounting or economics
* Qualified accountant (ACA/CA or ACCA). Holding the CTA/ATII tax qualification would be an advantage
