This Global Top 100 Law Firm offers a full service practice to a high calibre client base. They are currently looking to recruit a Corporate Tax Senior Associate with 7 or more years' post qualification or equivalent experience. The core of their highly regarded tax business is transactional corporate tax experience so an experience of private equity, international tax planning and knowledge of property tax and/or employment tax will be advantageous.
You will be leading engagements with high calibre clients and you will work on a variety of transactional issues. You will regularly be working for listed companies, foreign owned companies, public sector bodies, institutional investors and banks in maximising the tax effectiveness of all types of commercial practice. The key drivers in developing the practice is to win their own tax clients, providing work for the other areas of the firm and also to provide an integrated "one stop shop" to transaction planning and advice in conjunction with other groups. The role has a clear path to partnership for the right person.
Your role will be centred on corporate tax providing tax advice on corporate, property and commercial structures and transactions for both the firm's own clients and those of the firm's corporate, property and projects groups. The work includes restructuring and demergers, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, funding transactions, outsourcing and private equity/fund investments.
Another core area of the corporate tax practice is the advice provided to property owners, developers, tenants, investors and public sector bodies on property structures providing advice across the full range of real estate tax issues.
The team link link with the firm's sector-based strategy and have developed and have developed experience and connections in a number of business sectors, including insurance, real estate, private equity and energy. You will also been involved in Share Plans and Tax Litigation.
You will ideally have mainstream corporate tax experience (M&A, venture capital, company reconstructions, inward investment), and be a "self-starter" capable of running client matters with minimal supervision. You will be a team player with experience of delegating to and supervising more junior fee earners.
